The work-study program is **entirely free for students**. Tuition fees are fully covered by partner companies. Additionally, students receive a monthly salary from the company where they work, based on the French SMIC (minimum wage), adjusted according to their age and year in the program (see below). As of November 1, 2024, the net monthly SMIC is approximately €1,426.30 for a 35-hour workweek.

The **minimum salary** is around 50% of the SMIC for workers aged 21 to 25, and 100% for those aged 26 and over:

===== WORK-STUDY PROGRAM =====

The work-study program is a unique training system designed to improve professional integration by alternating theoretical and practical courses (at the school) with hands-on learning periods (in a company). This learning system allows participants to gain professional experience while earning a salary during their studies.

The work-study system is open to everyone but has an age limit of 29 years. Individuals accepted into a work-study program must find a host company. The cost of work-study training is covered by the OPCOs (for cultural sector companies, the relevant OPCO is AFDAS) and the companies themselves. Therefore, students are not required to pay for the training, aside from the application fee and the CVEC (Contribution to Student and Campus Life).

The work-study program grants the learner employee status, whether they are in class or at the company, just like any other employee of the company. Learners are paid throughout the duration of their contract. Their salary is a percentage of the SMIC (minimum wage), which depends on the type of contract signed and their age. Collective or contractual agreements may offer a more favorable salary. Upon completing the program, the work-study participant earns a state-recognized diploma, provided they pass their exams. Unlike students in traditional academic programs, work-study participants are eligible for unemployment benefits after completing their studies.
