Direct Entry to the Second Year (M2)

Direct admission to the second year of the Master's (M2) is possible through established partnerships, such as with Ecole polytechnique, Telecom SudParis and Telecom Paris, or by demonstrating a strong technical background and demonstrated proficiency in areas closely aligned with the M1 curriculum. Applicants must provide evidence of their proficiency in the relevant subjects, ensuring they meet the academic and technical requirements of the program.

Recommended Preparation for Direct M2 Entry

Applicants entering directly into M2 should have a strong scientific and programming background and be ready to work independently with advanced technical tools.

Programming — C++ & Python

  • Modern C++, STL, debugging, software engineering and Python for scientific computing.

Unreal Engine

  • Actors, components, materials, lighting, cameras and Blueprints.
  • Independent project development and basic troubleshooting.

Computer Graphics — OpenGL

  • 3D graphics pipeline, shaders (GLSL), transformations, meshes, textures and lighting.

AI — Machine Learning, Deep Learning & Generative AI

  • Neural networks, training and validation, PyTorch fundamentals and generative models.

Computer Vision

  • Image processing, camera models, calibration, feature extraction and basic 3D reconstruction.

Learning by Doing: Becoming Autonomous

The objective is not to master every technology beforehand, but to become sufficiently autonomous to participate effectively in advanced M2 courses and workshops.

Unreal Engine — Independent Practice Strongly Recommended
Before entering M2, students are strongly encouraged to complete a small Unreal Engine project independently, such as a simple game, an interactive 3D scene, or a real-time cinematic demonstration.
The objective is to become comfortable navigating the engine, organizing scenes, using Blueprints, setting up cameras and lighting, and troubleshooting basic problems without constant supervision.
